Our mission is to be a trusted resource for homesteaders, gardeners, and folks who love the outdoors. We aim to provide practical advice, timeless wisdom, and inspiring stories that make the path to a slower, more sustainable lifestyle feel achievable for everyone. From gardening tips and seasonal recipes to chicken care and DIY projects, we’re your companion in building a life that’s connected to the earth—and to what really matters.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Madison, the heart behind Wildstead Way.

I created this site as a way to document and share the journey I’ve been on—raising a family while embracing a simpler, more intentional way of living. I’m a mom of three boys, including Thomas Wilder and Rory Glenn, whose names helped inspire the identity of this site and our broader vision for living a grounded, meaningful life.

Growing up in Texas, I was raised around strong hands, homegrown tomatoes, and a fierce pride in doing things the old-fashioned way. Today, that upbringing is alive in my backyard garden, in the way I bake bread with my kids, and in the desire to pass on a legacy of self-sufficiency and stewardship.

I’m also a writer, editor, and media entrepreneur, managing a growing collection of websites dedicated to living well—through home, nature, nostalgia, and community. But Wildstead Way is closest to my heart because it reflects the life we’re building as a family: slow, full, and wild in the best kind of way.
